Re: oil filler cap problem
I had this happen to my 98 when I was doing the oil change one day... I made due by pulling it apart and using a pair of vice grips... Then just picked up another out of the JY the next day.. had I had any epoxy, I would have done the same thing...
Re: Oil filler cap problem
Might try grabbing one from an older one. Not sure if it would work but they don't rachet so i don't think the weakness would be a problem. Might be worth a couple bucks at the jy to try.

Re: Oil filler cap problem
I looked at an XJ that had the same problem. The guy claimed to have serviced the jeep himself but the oil didn't look very clean and he had no idea the cap was broken. Needless to say, I passed on that one.
Re: Oil filler cap problem
A little update since I first posted. I went to my local NAPA store today to see if I could by a spare(Stant 10111 oil filler cap). The counter man said he had one and brought me a Balkamp box part # 703-1713. Inside the box to my surprise, was a Stant oil filler cap. The cost was $8.41 with tax.
Re: Oil filler cap problem
