What was the first car you owned? Besides your Jeep I mean. It is not really a car. Here is a list of brochures from old cars.

http://www.lov2xlr8.no/dodge.html

Mine was a 67 Charger with a 383. Gold with black vinyl top. Fully loaded

What was yours?

1973 Pontiac Ventura, blue, with a 250 straight 6. Kinda like this one...

http://ultimategto.com/1973/73_00059_1.jpg

mods included L60 tires, traction bars, 327 engine and 4 speed Munci transmission. After I totaled it, everything was moved over to a 1972 Nova. :D

I've only had (and still have) four vehicles. Two of which I've been able to drive and one that I've driven more than 1/4 mile.

In order of purchase. 1992 Jeep Cherokee, 1974 VW Beetle, 1972 VW Squareback, 1990 Ford Bronco 2. The xj is currently the only driver. I got them pretty cheap, total for all four $1950 with my xj being the most expensive at $1100.

Odd fact, all four were blue when i bought them.

1971 Datsun ... running 13.89 in the quater mile.

Mine was also a 71 Datsun pick up. But I used it for going camping and my intro into off roading. When it got stuck, 3 of us could lift the rear end and turn the truck. Bought my tires and wheels from Dick Cepek.

I learned a lot working on this truck. But it would probably only do 20+ in the 1/4 mile.

the first year I could drive on the streets I had, in order. Corvair twin turbo, 62 Chevy Belair station wagon, 56 Buick 4 hole, 62 Ford Sunliner, all sold just as I got them to the nearly completed stage. Then came my first VW Campmobile and at the same time my beloved 66 Pontiac GTO hill climber. I sold the complete drive train when the GTO was totaled and went to SF and bought a nice little Italian car (365 GTB)http://ts1.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=1607493492728&id=925d086a7f22b68f9845ba774fd32b91&url=http%3a%2f%2fautosclasicos.espaciolatino.com%2 farchivos%2fferrari-365gtb4daytona01.jpg with the money, I still had the VW.

I learned to drive on my moms 1989 2.8 Chevrolet Celebrity. My 1st car was a 1989 Cadillac Fleetwood RWD for $150. I had taken quite a bad hit on the right front and the battery was dead so a friend helped me push it 1/4 mile home. When I was changing the front clip the village inspector came by to look at our house that was for sale and told me there was an ordinance against working on cars in the driveway. I told him I wasnt working on it I was cleaning the leaves and road junk from the firewall. He laughed and said "it better be back together when I come back tomorrow" and it was.

I had a 1990 Ford Ranger. 4cyl, 5 speed. Dark grey with electric blue and pink stripes. I got it in 2000, I think the ridiculous 90's stripes are what made the price so low, because it was a great truck (until I crashed into both walls of the freeway about a year after I got it).

Next one was a 1986 Silverade 2wd longbed with a built up 350. Great motor, but the rest of the truck fell apart and I ended up selling it a few years later to a friend who wanted to put the motor and transmission in an s10. Wish I still had it.

My first was nothing less than a red 92 jeep yj wrangler I found all ready lifted on 32's. swore I'd never sell her but, 7 years later I had my second kid on the way and you can't fit two car seats in the back of a wrangler.

Mine was a 1974 Ford F100 Explorer, for you kids that don't know, the "Explorer" use to be a trim package you could get on the trucks, not an SUV.
Anyway mine had the 302, 3 on the tree, 8 track, ect. and looked very much like this one:

My first one was a 1977 F100 Custom with a 300 straight six and 3 on the column. No power steering, no power, brakes, no A/C, no nothing. It was an excellent truck. It was the easiest thing on the planet to work on. It was dependable as hell and got 16 mpg no matter how you drove it or what you did with it. I wish I still had it every week! I had a lot of good times in that old thing.
