i live in ohio i have always liked jeeps have owned two xj now the 1st one my wife totaled on ice and had to have another one so i got my 98 had it for 3yrs it has 3in zone lift custom exhaust 31in mud tires and stereo system

i found the form surfing the web one day ive been thinking about triming my fenders and was on google and i ran across this form

Cool. Are you going to trim the fenders so you can run larger tires than you have now?

yea wanting to put a 1.5 more lift and maybe some 32in or 33in tires any ideas on lift with out spending a bunch of money

:welcome: to xjtalk from Delaware/Maryland!! If I were you I'd pick up the coil spacers and a set of adj. shackles from RC.. You can pick up that extra height you are looking for pretty cheap that way.. That is what I did on top of my 4.5" lift I had, and am very happy with the results, and the price..

what about control arms and stuff or could i get away with out changing any thing else i know i would have to move brake lines and ive got a transfer case drop already

3" is kind of the breaking point for money. After that, you are outside the normal range the linked front is designed for. Then you need to relocate the track bar hole, or a new track bar and longer lower links to maintain the castor angle you need to avoid bump steer. Longer shocks will probably also be needed to avoid pulling the pistons off the rod.

is it true that grand cherokee contol arms are longer and will work on xj

From what I have read the WJ rear lover control arms are approx 2" longer than the front XJ front lower control arms and may require grinding to fit.
