At the risk of posting perhaps the lamest post (to date) I thought I'd share my dilemma. I have a 16 oz travel coffee mug, stainless steel, both inside and out. It's pretty nice, but at work I can get Starbucks coffee for $0.92 if you use your own cup. I've asked, I can use a 55 gallon drum if I want to, $0.92.

So I've been looking online for a larger travel mug. I like the stainless steel, and I don't like the ones with a plastic liner. I do want it to fit in the Jeep cup holder and I don't want a handle on it.

I thought I'd post up here and see what you use, what you like, or maybe some holy grail of coffee mugs that you've been considering?

I was thinking of a 20 oz or maybe even a 24 oz container, but I haven't been able to find just the right one.

Here's what I use now...

Modify it! Chop the handle off and good to go. Haha. Looks pretty big.

Can you get that one under the coffee spigot?

Sure, I just move the container closer to the edge of the table. :morningcoffee:

It does have handles, might be necessary though. Nice lid, keeps it from splashing. Shiny like you said you liked, and no plastic liner. I don't know if it would fit in your cup holder as i'm not as familiar with the '97+ xj's. You don't sleep, right?

Lame .. ??? ....... :shocker:

Coffee ... is every bit as important as - tyre types and cooling system maintenance ... ;)

:smiley-laughing021:

I normally like to sit and enjoy my brew before going off and driving .... but I'm known to jam one of these in the console from time to time ...

X 2 on not using plastic liner, hot coffee cups tho ... and if you find a mug you like ... buy a couple ... coz they seem to keep changing the styles with regular monotony.

Starbucks coffee for under $1 nice! Gas stations up here sell a half gallon coffee cup for $4.99 maybe they do by you too?

I am starting to believe the same thing, this is the reason for this desperation post!

Would a ss water bottle work? like lean kanteen or camelback?

Well I mainly use it for coffee at my desk, so I think a water bottle wouldn't hold the heat in very well and the camelback would rain down insults from my fellow engineers.

Here's a few that might work...

Now, this one goes against your criteria of stainless and handle-less, but I think it's pretty awesome!

Excellent choices, however for me...

#1 not double walled, so it's not going to keep the coffee warm but it will make my hand hot. This is the best cheapest that I have found. If it was double walled stainless it would be perfect, or so I believe without actually having it in my little hands.

#2 double walled, however that inner wall is plastic, and plastic is going to hold a taste. Gotta be stainless steel at least on the inside. :D

#3 Might be okay for the Jeep, if I was traveling alone, not so good for the office.

They had several close calls, so to speak, with the "Bubba" mugs.

Ok I received a nice e-mail saying they had screwed up and marked my order processed. I received the mug Saturday. I took the top off and filled it with water. About to the level I figured I would fill it with coffee, cream and sugar.

I then took my old mug and poured the water in it. I was able to completely fill then over flow (not a lot). This told me that it was able to hold more, which is why I wanted this thing to start with.

The old mug didn't hold quite as much as the large cups they provided, so I've always felt a little cheated, out of the coffee, not my money. :D

Now I normally over fill any mug, so much that I usually can't get the lid on it. Today was no different, with one notable exception.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-M1F1BLFnIvU/Ty_lYxAR0-I/AAAAAAAABt0/5UEeQmj0Tgk/s800/20120206_083354.jpg

I GOT THE LID ON!

That large thick "O" ring looking thing around the mug is exactly that. A large thick "O" ring that isn't attached to the mug at all with the exception of the tension from the ring. I found this kind of strange.

Anyway it's all stainless, inside and out. Fits in the Jeep cup holder. And holds more coffee than the old one did. So far, color me happy! :morningcoffee:
