Howdy, new to playing in a jeep, been on dirt for...... holy crap I'm old, well lets say years.
Daughter said she wanted to sell her car and buy a jeep. So now she has a cherokee '90, of course that means it's time for dad to work on it. First I put a 3inch lift on it, then bought a safari rack, I had my daughter (17yrs old), do the work building the gutter clamps, exept welding. Next was the bumper, again she did all the cutting, drilling and mill work, and again I welded. Next I got a 9000lb winch, droped it on the bumper and now it's slider time. Oh and yes she (we) do take it out ,I spot she drives, fun to see her scare herself then laugh.
Hope to learn from all here and hopefully help if I can.
hear is the bumper just before done-http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j367/bugpictures/jeepwinch2.jpg this is finished bumper-

Thank you for the welcome, I was happy to have found this site, I have already found many interesting and helpful threads/articles.
Good runs to all and hope you keep at least two of the four on the ground (well ok, at least keep 'em from pointing to the sky all at once)

i have to say it is nice having a place to go where making it work is more important than making sure what you buy is flash chromed and held on with double back tape.
i like that my kid says "can't we just make one" and "paint it black".
this forum should be a good fit for us,we're more into make it ourselves, make it good, make it tough.
