Cover rockers and lower doors with diamond plate :x:

On a brighter note, I did manage to finally find etching primer paint, necessary to paint said diamond plate before spraying it with black bed liner.

Also I picked up a paint sprayer to spray the bed liner.

Viair 2.5 gallon air tank and associated tubing. Need to connect to Viair pressure gauge in my a-pillar pod :x:

Let's hear your list Steve!

My list? OK here it is as of now. The problem with my bucket list is it is growing faster than my income, which I hope is taking a turn for the better.

First plate the frame all the way from the front coil buckets to the rear bump stop.

Then the fun begins.

Rear Axle:
Rear Toyota T100 8.25" rear axle, 65" wide acquired
5.29 cryo treated gears
ARB air locker acquired
Toyota front spindles, hubs, calipers acquired
Custom axle shafts from Bobby Longfield
Frond discs from 79-85 PU

Front Axle:
Toyota 8.25 rear axle from a Tocoma
5.29 cryo treated gears
ARB air locker acquired
Front knuckles, hubs, locking hubs and spindles from Toyota 8" front acquired
Custom inner shafts and birfields from Bobby Longfield
Six shooter steering knuckles and arms
Custom tie rod and drag link by yours truly
A new axle alignment devise by some local machine shop
Ram assist and lines to go with my present AGR steering box.
Tundra front brakes

And a set of 38" KM2s for those axles.

Tube fenders and a paint job

Link new rear axle.
New additional crossmember tied in to new plating
Rusty's 150# front coils
Links from Parts Mike to match my fronts.

All brake, air and vent lines attached to top links eliminating long hoses

Then the engine fun begins. My engine is approaching 300K and has been good to me, but is beginning to smoke a little when I get on it and leak here and there. So, there is a rebuild coming including balance, forged steel crank, heavy duty rods, 00-01 heads with 2.02 intakes and 194 exhaust valves with a port and polish with corresponding flow check (I have the equipment for this). investigating underbelly turbo also to add to get 450 hp.

Gotta be more, but I need to quit adding to this list. But it is my Jeep and I have had it for ten years now and will keep it another twenty.

Almost forgot, sliders

Brakes are now all new from one end to the other.
Next is install of front frame re-enforcement and the custom steering box I've had sitting since last summer.
Air con Seals and charge
Paint job
Windshield
Front bumper build w/ recovery points
Engine rear seal
New front Axle bearings,seals
New U-Joints
Lift to 4.5" end height
New Wheels (5) and Tires
Rear LSD
Front E-Locker
and that's it for now, till I think of more things to do.

Not meaning to tell you how to mod your jeep but i think you should leave that scoop black. Its unique and looks good. Its recognizable, i always know its your rig by that black scoop.

No problem, you're not the first, but I personally just don't care for it being black. I'd like for the cowl to be less noticeable than more. Besides when I finally get around to bonding it to the hood the entire hood will probably be black for a while. :D

So what are you planning on using to bond it to the hood Tony?

I would probably make that same decision, there's just something i like about that black scoop on the red. :jumping0041:

It's been a while since I bought it. There are a couple of tubes of rubbery adhesive and then the main stuff is another rubberized bondo like material.

From what I read (how I knew about the adhesive and bondo like stuff) I'll have to get some rubberized paint as well. You know because the cowl is fiberglass, flexible and the steel hood less so. Other wise cracks can and will develop.

I wasn't keen on the idea of adding a hood scoop to an off road vehicle. It sends unacknowledged people the wrong signal. I estimated I needed a cowl tall enough to let some hot air out but low enough not to call too much attention. This cowl works great in letting the hot air out, but stands out a little too much.

Painted to match the hood, you'll still see it but just not as much.

Just add some racing stripes.:rotfl2:

Nah, it'll look good once you get it painted to match. That'll tone it down some and be more classy.

It's not complete. I hurried up and got it on for the summer to try and help with the highway heat creep. I still need to bond it to the hood and paint it.

He he. Don't fret. One thing you can guarantee is that our ageing Jeeps will develop problems due to normal wear and tear, and those can be accelerated by the punishment of offroad driving. You just hope that several problems don't crop up at the same time (like London buses) but that can happen.
In the last two months I've had to replace the track bar bushing, water pump, rubber hanger of exhaust, handbrake mechanism (button and spring flew off the old one), fuel pump, and o-rings in pipes behind AC compressor. I'm hoping I can have a few months break now before I need to do any more tinkering.
My Jeep's so old now that I'm not losing money on it anymore through depreciation, so I can spend a fraction of that money instead on keeping it in tip top condition.
