Hi Brasscatz, welcome to the xjtalk forum!

We would love to know more about you and your Jeep. How you found us, etc...

Check out "Announcements" "How to post an image" for help posting images.

Got a Wrangler? Maybe a friend with one? http://www.WranglerTalk.com/

Hey guys! I'm new to this Forum, but I've been a member of cherokeeforum.com for a while. Figured I'd join over here too. I have a 1997 Cherokee Country that's basically stock for now. I've only done some cosmetic and audio modifications to it. Currently, my Jeep is my daily driver and I don't wheel it because I can't afford anything breaking right now! It will soon be my offroad toy and get it's lift and everything else! I've added a bunch of photos to my albums in my profile and you can also check me out at the other forum if you like: http://www.cherokeeforum.com/members/brasscatz-35722

I haven't been in the New Caney area but I hear it's nice out there. I'm originally from Ft. Worth, but after getting married in '07, the wife wanted to move back to her home town.

Thanks guys! I'm liking Houston alright... I do miss the traffic in Ft. Worth, though! I think the drivers and humidity is my least favorite part about Houston. Oh well, I've been here for almost 5 years now, I think I'm used to it! I've actually become an Astros fan! Still love the Rangers though.

Never give up on the RANGERS. They are the whole state's team. BTW welcome to xjtalk. I am also on both sites, here and CF.

Well several of them were banned on CF :shocker: :sniper: :D

Really? What happened? Were you one?

We can't talk about "cats" over there on CF. They get a little "testy" when the subject comes up. That's just one example. I like CF well enough, I get lots of good info over there. The problem I have is there are some with a GOD complex. (I haven't been banned there yet myself.)

You'll have to come to Creekside and wheel with us sometime. You can bring tour DD, it's not to bad unless you make it that way.

(on edit): Hint, your post count will remain at 0 until you post in threads outside of the "welcome" catagorey.

Gotcha. I did experience a little tiff over there once from one guy.... but that's neither here nor there. I suspect that there's differences of opinions everywhere. Oh well. I just try to remember to not get my feelings hurt when somebody is immature... though that's VERY hard to do when the offending statement is obviously directed at your post. I got a little defensive... I think everybody does at some point.

Where is this Creekside? I've heard about it, but I haven't been wheeling in about 5 years, and that was up in Ft. Worth before my truck got stolen. Now that I have an XJ, I need to find the hot spots here in Houston. (and find my tranny problem and reinstall my front drive shaft)

I did notice that my post count wasn't rising. I guess when I have some more time, I'll peruse more of the other categories and hopefully I'll have something worthy to contribute. I am curious about this "thank" and "groan" thing, however.

Here ya go:
Google Maps

You'll see the "thanks" and "groan" buttons at the bottom right corner of the thread window when you get more posts. As you give thanks to people thier reputation score grows as yours does when you recieve thanks. Groans, hmmm, I don't use them so I'm not sure.:D

I believe it was originally written (it's a vBulletin add on) was to keep people from posting "Thanks" or "That post sucked!" You just click and button and move on. It can be a little frustrating to get notification of a post to a thread you started, or commented on, or you are just subscribed to. You get there and see the post is "Thanks!" :smiley-whacky119:

Makes sense. I just tried it on your post... don't know if it worked. I clicked the little "scale" looking thing and clicked on "approve" and "add to reputation". Oh, and thanks! LOL

Now that my "Thanks" button has become available, I decided to go back and add thanks to all the welcomes and other posts!

Welcome to the site from one state to the North.

I don't know how my reply to this one never showed up... probably user error! I've been by Edmond a couple of times on my travels. I'd come up 35 and hit 44. My buddy also has a 800 acre ranch between Tishomingo and Ada off 377 that butts up against the Blue River? (I think) that I've frequented with him in the past. Would be a great place to off road a bit... but GREAT fishing at his 9 ponds and fun place to shoot some guns!

Here in the OKC metro area there is little to no wheeling areas unless you have a buddy with some land. Sucks, but I guess it keeps me out of trouble.
The popular wheeling places are NE by Tulsa, or SE by Clayton, Ok.

Awwww, memories :D I got to welcoming a bunch of the new members and decided to walk through my own welcome thread. Since I've come to know several of you guys better, it's fun to go back and read what y'all wrote way back then. I'm sure a bunch of you guys are going to see the thread in your subscriptions and go "Huh? Welcome Brasscatz?" WTH? LOL

P.S..... you have my permission to delete those old posts about the "other" forum... I only have 1 thread that I follow there anymore, and I follow it maybe once a month. XJTalk all the way baby!
