So I have been looking at new tires,.. I was tossed up between 37's and 39.5's

I dig the 39.5's ,... My poor axles. I will likely get bias ply irocks though.

Jensen, you are having it look like the proverbial orange big foot. :D

Lol I like that, but if I opt to go that size there is going to be way more trimming

I know what you mean. I plan on running 38s, which is going to also take lots of trimming. You cannot even think about it without full width axles

OR build a sub frame setup so you actually have a "body lift" with all the running gear hooked to the subframes and those welded to the unibody "frame". But then you would also have to add more shocks. BTW is your steering box going to be up to those monster tires?

I will be fine clearing that size of tire with some sheet metal re-work, the truck will have to take on some more tube to allow for that sheet metal removal. The steering box is a Durango box that will have some hydro assist come spring/summer so I don't end up with another broken hand. Rad will likely be moved to the bed to allow the winch and bumper to be recessed and the battery ma have to move into the cabin.

Looks like you are getting away from a traditional modded XJ ot a ore "evolved" XJ. You gonna be OK with those axle shafts? Might be a little weak for that size tire.

The 9" I have no concerns with, the D44 Front only has blown up once now since the chromies, but it was a cheap u-joint (my bad) that caused the failure,... Spicer X VS Super Strength,.. X for the win

Alright, go for it. Those boggers have some bite. You gonna sipe any lugs out?
