-Dana 35 swap to 8.25 Aussie locked

Well of course id say your going the right direction on the exhaust. as far as the lift goes......Is that the highest you plan to go? If not, wait and buy the one you want the first time. If not, it sounds like a great plan

Wel the closest trails to my house is the badlands in Attica IN. It's a good hour and a half drive and it's not too cheap so I honestly don't really NEED a big lift I just want it to do good trail riding and still be a daily driver. And plus it's a 60th anniversary edition and I want to TRY to keep it nice so I'm not gonna do hardcore wheeling just go out for fun.

That sounds like a good idea. But if it were me i'd go with 31's.

See that's a decision i needed help on...how would they put me in terms of flex would they rub

bigjim350
12-31-2011, 12:09 AM
They might rub, but if they do you can buy extended bumpstops, which are pretty cheap.

What if I took off the trim around the wheel well like the bumper type thing I've seen some people just take them off cause I don't wanna trim fenders

bigjim350
12-31-2011, 12:14 AM
Without trimming the fenders that wouldnt do much for you. You can trim the fenders some, and put the flares back on in the stock location, but you still run the risk of ripping of the flare. So your best bet is the smaller tires, or extened bumpstops

Cwish

Well that's why I was thinking 30 inch tires so I could maximize flex

True that the 30's would give you an 1" more flex than 31's. I guess what you need to figure is what would be more usefull. an 1" more flex, or an 1" more ground clearance...which the 31's would give.

Well What about a 1 inch spacer in the front coil and 3.5 inch spring in the rear cause I already ordered the Superlift cause I got a good deal. Then put that on 31's so I have 3.5 inch in front and 3,5 inch in back

That should clear 31's just fine. However if ya have stock bumpstops you'd still rub the fender durning some really crazy flex, course you still might on 30's also. Also ive seen 33's ran on 3" of lift, but it was bumpstopped and trimmed for it. Basicly you just throw on the lift and its all trial and error from there. Hell I can rub 31's on my 6.5" if I try hard enough.

How do you think I could do off road with the set up we just discussed

bigjim350
12-31-2011, 12:29 AM
Would do great offroad. I was always surprised what a stock xj did offroad. 30's or 31's wont make much differnce offroad. That part is more of a look thing.

Well yeah I reall like the looks and I mean it will help a little. It's gon a kill me looking at those coils in my room and know I can't put it on yet cause I do t have the money for the leafs it came with aal but my leafs now are flat so I'm just gonna get new leafs

Recently we added a Jeep TJ to the Jeep heard. I've always loved the classics Jeeps, and I wouldn't have gone to the Jeep dealership when I found the red XJ I have now if the CJ, YJ, TJ, etc... hadn't existed. I like both Jeeps.

BTW, xjtalk.com has a sister site, WranglerTalk.com.
