Ok so I'm thinking about buying a 2 inch lift but what all do I need. Transfer case drop? I'm thinking I'm gonna get some factory replacement leafs and then adding the shackle on because my rear leafs are flat. How hard is it to put on? I have basic mechanical skills and my dad is decent

And how good are lift blocks

I would stay away from lift blocks. If you want 2", the easiest thing to do is get a set of springs off an S10 Blazer. Jack up the rig, take off the tires and then let the axle drop, supported. Then remove the u bolts and let it drop further so you can take the spring apart and insert the number 2 leaf from the S10 pack. You an leave the main leaf in the vehicle. Very easy that way. See my article here on setting pinion angles in the tech section. If you have any vibrations from the driveline, follow that procedure first.

What about shackles

You shouldn't need shackles with the S10 leaves. Also if you use shackles, they change the angle of your driveline by 1° for every inch of shackle length. That may cause a driveline vibration. The 01 XJs are very sensitive to driveline angle change. But with a 2" lift you shouldn't have a problem

So I'm still confused on the s10 leaf thing. Is it pretty much an add a leaf or is it the whole spring pack

You should only need one leaf. But you will probably have to get the whole thing for the leaf. It is a popular way to lift the rear.

So will it sag

All springs will sag eventually from use and depending on what you place inside (extra weight on the springs) just a fact of the properties of steel. If you get a set of springs that won't sag, you are going to suffer with a lousy ride.

I think I'm gonna get skyjacker spacer and shacke but I need some good shock for a decent price. If I do the 1 inch trans case drop will I get vibrations

If you are only going with 2" of lift you shouldn't need a transfer case drop. If you were gonna go 3" or bigger than they suggest to do a transfer case drop or a SYE.

I wish we could say for sure, but I can't, and I have done many suspensions. At least not until I take some measurements. I will say though, that shackle will change your driveline angle, which [I]may[I] cause some driveline vibrations. It is a hit and miss situation. I would suggest you get an angle finder, which is cheap, or use your smart phone with a free app called Leveler, or some similar free app and follow the method in this link.

No, hand tools work fine. However use some good tall jack stands to support the vehicle while doing this.

For the 2" spacer and shackles I ordered mine from fat bob's garage in Utah. It was like $90 shipped.

I put on brand new up country leaf's out back and put the shackle on it's lowest setting and that puts me at 2" front and 2.5" rear. Along with Skyjacker hydro shocks for 3" lift and it does everything I need it to and I plan to leave it as it is till I get something else for dd duty.

If it'll get me through these sections with 2" lift on 30's it suits my needs.

Not unless you trim the sheet metal too. There are many ways and amounts of trims. What you want depends on the size of tires you want to run. If you run 33s and up, you will need to trim the sheet metal.
