Hmmm on the 98 and 99 it's under the driver's side dash, just in front and slightly to the right of the light under the dash. You should be able to see it if you get eye level to the bottom of the dash.

Ive read that some 96 & early 97's had it in the engine bay ??

I'd check under the dash .. on both sides ... just in case a RHD assembler ... was getting some over-time on the LHD assembly line ... :D

OBDII standard position in the US is on the left side just under the dash. I was make to locate mine there when going for smog check from the Referee. OBDI and II are supposed to be very standard. It is earlier Jeeps, like my 86 that has stuff under the hood to plug into.

Ford was still doing it in the early/mid 90's. I had a 94 Tempo with the port in the driver's shock tower.

Come to think of it I did too. However I know for a fact OBDII was completely standardized.

Anything after 95 is supposed to be standardized on OBDII.

mine is a 99 and it has it on the left side just below the kick panel
