hey everybody, i'm in the process of building my first xj. i've been a tj guy for awhile. but the chop is complete, most of the big stuff is done. just finishing up some small details so i can get it out of the garage for the winter while i build my axles.

here are some specs so far.
93 2 door 4.0 aw4/np231
chopped the back
fully caged
around 3" of lift (well those were the size of the coils in the front anyway)
on 35's

the axles aren't going to be crazy, just an 8.8 with a detroit and 4.56 gears. front will still be the d30, detroit 4.56 gears, truss and some sort of mid arm 3 link

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a lot of work chopping it. But I have always thought a 2 door was the best vehicle to chop. If you make a three link, you will like it over a Y link

yeah i've never really been a fan of the radius arm set-ups. no real reason, i've never ran one, just prefer a 3 link. that shouldn't be too hard to set up. just need to decide if i want to cut into the floor or just mount them under the frame rails. decisions, decisions.

here he is after i put on some 97+ doors (pre chop)

http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m524/cantkillit/doorswap2.jpg

redoing the inner fenders from the little trim job

http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m524/cantkillit/wheelwellfinish.jpg

gave him a haircut

http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m524/cantkillit/choptop2.jpg

rolling out of the garage to get the cage done.

http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m524/cantkillit/outside3.jpg

cage all done heading back into the garage to finish him up.

http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m524/cantkillit/cagedonehome1.jpg

the front inner and outer fenders are all trimmed up too, but i guess i don't have any pics of that other than the completed trim with a rear tj flare mounted up. that's a 33x12.5 in there. it's sitting on some 3in coils from RC.

http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m524/cantkillit/frontfenderwithflare.jpg

lots more done. and still more to do, but it's almost ready to be back on the street. that is until i get my axles all redone and start beating on this thing on the trails.

thanks for the compliments everyone. i've got some 35's in there now and i'm pretty sure there is still plenty of room for 37's just have to bump stop a little more. but the 37's won't be for a bit. i just want to get it wheelable for the spring.
