like that?
I did my E30 BMW like that and it looked great for 2 weeks then the minor scratches started and in 3 months it looked bad

I made that mistake using flat black ... what you need to do is get a professional grade satin black, PPG makes this color and so does sherwin williams... yes automotive paint from sherwin williams. it is pretty expensive now because its a fashion that lots of people are wanting.
the flat black after a year ended up fading to a very dark brown
here is a picture of it the day after I painted it

and here she is about two years later... you can tell it looked pretty nasty

here you can see that trying to touch it up is a real pain look at the fender along the flare the newer paint is much darker than the faded.

Mine never faded but I got rub marks and scratches all over it, not 100% but it was made by PPG had an old Ford truck on the can.

XJ4IV thanks for sharing the pictures of your jeep xj. Have served me well and was just what I wanted.
Then according to your experience
should paint my truck matte that color?
Do not use my jeep in mud only dunes, beaches and rivers.
Within a week I go to paint and would like to know some advantages and disadvantages
Once again thank you very much for sharing your photos and thanks for your time!

This is not a pic of an entire Jeep, but I wanted to share the paint. It is called Chalk Board. Rustoleum makes it and I think one other brand does too. This has been on my wheels for eight years now. It is a tough paint designed to have chalk used on it and survive. You have to have the surface prepped and allow several days to harden up good. But it is very durable. In this pic, the wheels were a little dirty so the color is a little lighter than it should be.

One choice that I didn't see mentioned so far is to use a regular auto paint and add Matte or semi-gloss to the color coats then do the same with the clear coats. Or you could use a gloss black auto color coat and add Matte additive to the clear coats. The new paint technologies are now mostly relying on the clear coats to give the gloss finish you see on show room floors. If I wanted a matte black myself, I would shoot the color coats (2-4) then use the additive to get the clear coats to give the finish I was seeking. This way your Black will fade less.
