Got a Wrangler? Maybe a friend with one? http://www.WranglerTalk.com/

Hey Steve! Ya I heard there was a real good forum with cool people and real information on it. :)
My Jeep is getting a make over. About to redo the steering, track bar, going long arm finally. I gotta figure what I'm going to do with the rear suspension. Find out why I'm getting a popping sounds so badly. I think its my drive shaft. My locker has never been this loud.
And then figure out what to do about axles. Either build out my D30/8.25 or do D44 on both front and rear.
Hows the Jeep and things?

Yes Deejay, this is a cool forum. Much friendlier than CF I think. Besides, we get to see cool stuff like Detours and Ironman Andy's prototypes here before anyone else. Check out the Detours Knucklebone giveaway this month. Its only on xjtalk.

Let us know when you want to tackle this stuff.

Andy told me you are into firearms. So it was more than jeeps that
Brought me here. As of a year ago. I got addicted.

I just finished the cooling system, Ironman motor mounts, & exhaust.
I've been hoarding parts in the garage to tackle all at once.
I got a local friend for welding the stiffeners.
I'm going through FrankZ for the steering. AGR steering gear box and
I'm pretty sure I'm getting his 1 ton steering. I'm struggling with the ideal
Of OTK vs UTK. I want to truss the D30 if I keep it. Bit I can't afford it all now
I'd also need someone else to do that kinda work since my buddy is not
Familiar with it. So I'm kinda slacking.
I also need to figure out the rear.
I currently have 4.5" leaf pack. I want to go up an inch but also improve ride quality.
Any tips send it my way.
Thank you for the warm welcoming.

Not yet. Lack of money to finish. The economy needs to move again before I can finish it.

Going up an inch and improved ride quality is tough with leaves. Going up is easy, just use a 1" spacer block with some extended u bolts. Ride quality can be helped with the right shocks. but bear in mind you can never make a leaf ride as well as coils. Mine has different leaves from when you saw it last and they are soft and ride well as stock, but not as well as a coil does.

The guys at TNT are slowly talking me into coiling the rear.
I do need to get my fox shocks valved properly. I spent a stupid amount on shocks
And they ride like crap. I've been kicking around shackle relocation brackets, JKS shackle, and TNT's UBolt eliminator kit. All of which are cheap upgrades. But you can't be sure until you actually try it. I even thought for a split second about Deaver leafs. But at that point. I might as well coil it.
So what's cookin in the back? And what leafs you go with?

We expanded the back area under compost/drip. All the Orange Tree area out to the end of the concrete. Don't know if you saw the garlic box, but it is screened from gophers and about 2' deep with compost/soil mix. We will do the area between the porches soon or wait until spring. We still have tomatoes, oranges are getting ripe and the lemon tree is groaning. It is mostly about 4" high now from too many lemons. But we have some friends to help us there. Been drying tons of basil. We have some sheep visiting us and eating the fall growth of grass.

The leaves I am running now are a bastard pack using Isuzu Redeo leaves under the XJ main. That will give you the height you want, but you will sacrifice some cornering as you would with any soft springs.

Holy cow!!! That sounds fenominal! As soon as saw your spread. I thought to
Myself, "Would this guy mind if I lived under the back porch?" I'm so happy to hear
Your getting things dialed in. You and that land deserve it!
I just finished my second raised bed. 5'x10'x20". It's so expensive. But I'm conditioning
The soil to get it healthy again. I'll be testing it yearly.
I got my worm farm dialed in. I killed the 1st one.
I converted half the garage to hydro for starter plants and I'm going to try
Deep water culture for winter tomatoes.
I'm addicted to gardening. I had a horrible issue w/ catapilars this year. All my spinach gone! A row of collards eaten. 2 broccoli plants eaten.
I'm going to redo the landscaping in the spring to all native habitat. Hopefully I can get the ecology healthy.
If it weren't for local law to shoot pigeons. I'd eliminate them.
Are you collecting rain water?

Coffee grounds for the worms. They can live on a straight diet of it and it seems to stimulate them to multiply. Must be the caffeine.

I had my originals in a rubbermaid. They baked. I made a wood container this time and it only gets morning sun. I feed em everything. A local coffee shop let's me pick up their coffee grounds.

I always used a wooden box set into the ground. That way they stayed at normal ground temp.

I grew something interesting. I have several Dragons Tongues. But apparently one of them is a giant one, twice as tall as average with a downright pornographic 30"spadix in the flower

I have two now and hoping for more. Might be worth something on Ebay
