Having a little quandary with the metal trim panel .... highlighted in red .... and figured one of you XJ demolishers would have the answer ....

All the rear, plastic trims are out ...
Grab handle screw is removed ...
C-Pillar trim is still in place ...
Upper door opening trim is still in place ...

The red trim is loose & dangling but catching on something at the C-Pillar ... Is there a tab or something the C-Pillar trim is hiding ??

Nooooo cantab ... its not coz its red ... .... :D :D

Its got an overlap on it, one piece wraps around the other. When I pulled mine it was a pain in the butt, but all i did was grab on and pull it out the hatch. When it lets go...watch out.

I don't remember any major issues with my 98. IIRC, just loosen the adjacent trim.

take out all screws and then slide it towards the rear and there may be a little plastic spacer behind one screw that will fall out or at least it did on my 92 it keeps you from bending the trim by overtightening the screw
