Transfer Case Linkage

My 97 with the 242's linkage keeps coming out, i can put it in and its pretty tight, but i can only use it for one shift, maybe two. i'll go into 4-lo and can go back to 2wd but after that it has fallen out again. if i drive for awhile with it in it will just randomly fall out and i can hear it rattling. Is there something that holds it in place? It looks the same as my other two jeeps t-cases but they stay in.

I believe there is a bushing that wears. I've heard of it before in 231's.

A guy in SW Ohio makes a redesigned linkage that gets rid of the weak points for like $50.

Those bushings can wear, especially if you have a tcase drop. I think 4WD.com has replacement bushings.
