House?? Are you kidding, that's probably the dog house. Anyway we're in S.E. Texas, even the air conditioners need air conditioners.

It's pretty awesome, but it's not as far out of reach as you may think. That Robinson goes for about $260k new and costs about $120 per hr to operate.

My ol lady's grandpa is a retired Houston cop and he has an RV that costs more than that chopper. Most good RV's cost more than that.

You could do a 6 person fractional ownership and for the price of a new Mustang GT you could fly it pretty much any time you wanted and split the maintenance costs.

I'd like to get my rotary ticket, but I'm fixed wing only for now.

BTW Ray, there is no such thing as too much money. And yes James, knowing the type of work Ray does it is on the lake somewhere.

Lol, thats kind of like "extra" money. I'd like to see what extra money looks like!

That's must be nice to own a Helicopter... land it in your back yard... and live on the shoreline like that!!! I just saw the "water" wall there on the edge of the sidewalk.. so was wondering...

I'd just be happy with 3 to 5 acres out of the way.

The property taxes alone on that place would keep an Xj junkie loaded with parts year round.

That is what I told my wife too... When we buy a place my only rules for finding a place is.. 3-5 acres, not in a neighborhood, and as far away from build up of towns.. have a garage that I can work on the XJ and other cars... and hopefully room for a pool, if not already have one.. LOL..

That's pretty much what I told my fiance. I don't care about the house and she can have whatever she wants to be happy. I just want enough property that the neighbors don't end up on top of me, and I can have a decent shop and probably a pole barn for storage.

I've only got 1 acre. It is in a lake front sub-division (I'm not lake front). We have a community fishing pier and boat ramp. I don't have a shop on this property but I did get a pool put in this year. My shop is 3 miles down the road so it's not to bad. I would still rather be out in the woods somewhere......you know, where I could pee off of the porch and only the wildlife would laugh!

I've got half an acre. My house was built in the 60's, and then a housing development grew up behind me in the late 70's. The people behind me have a big patch of grass they never mow. I couldn't figure out why till I tried to trim some crap growing through the fence and got poison. I'm going to go nuclear on the crap before next spring.

I am taking care of the 28 acres we live on now... so I think I'll be fine with 5 acres... LOL.. I wish I owned this place.. there would be so many things I would change and make work better.. Like cleaning out the big ass two car... well more like four car garage.. so that it could actually be used to work on vehicles.. but they guy who owns this place doesn't care about working on vehicles or equipment.. which just keeps me that much busier!!

Growing up we had about 10 acres with about 3.5 to 4 that I had to keep mowed with a push mower. Personally it'd be kinda nice to be able to get on the tractor and have 2 or so hours of peace and quiet (I've got four kids 10, 3 (twins), and 2 months).

We also had goats at the time and I hated the little SOB's. They had a nasty habit of coming up to you and getting you in the back of the knee cap with the tip of their horns.
