clutch fan ??

ive seen on a few sites that u can adjust the spring on the clutch fan but i for got witch way?? im asking this cuz i went back to a stock fan clutch. i was tired of my zj clutch hitting my rad.

turn spring CCW 180 degrees, i mean loosen the spring. but it not helps a lot for me

My zj clutch face planted the radiator also. I found the tranny mount bolts missing. Fixed bolts, problem solved.

Yea, those tranny bolt's play a big part. When i started driving my xj a lot it was making noise's, and I took it over to a tranny mechanic. Turned out to be tranny mount worn out, and loose...:watermelon:

Yep, Replaced my Motor mounts with MORE and trans with poly mount, engine is rock solid now.

Running ZJ fan & 3 core rad with no worries.

thanks oderdene. if i had more money when i did the motor and tranny mounts i would of done the poly mounts. i also think i found the issue. the bracket that holds the fan cluch. theres a barring that is not replaceable... grrrrr so i hope it fixes it. but dont know if i want to put the zj fan back in or not cuz i do have a brand new rad in. and it is winter time. guess i could try it next summer and get a back up rad since i already have to buy another one for the 90 ( the one i stole my rad from ). how many diffrent types of zj clutch fans are there???? pic of the front and side would be great. i know mine is a 97 zj heavey dutie cooling. and its huge. muddy???

2 years ago I replaced energy suspension poly mount and still good functioning. ZJ fan seems too large, so I installed XJ fan on ZJ fan clutch. Clearance between clutch and radiator 6-8mm and never touched by fan. as in parts catalog, 4 types for ZJ & ZG:
6 cylinder-
5202 7824 - CLUTCH, Fan, Viscous Cooling
5202 7823 - w/Max Cooling

8 cylinder - CLUTCH, Fan, Viscous Cooling
5202 8215 - w/o Max. Cooling
5202 8214 - w/Max Cooling

do u remember what year cf and with engine and if it was the HD cooling or not???? just trying 2 figure this stuff out.
