Hi,
had one question
i got a jeep classic 2001 with snorkle .
i got 7 hp less with it right??
soo... i wanted to buy a new exhaust because it gives u some hp???? or.. its false..
anyone knows if buying a CHIP will give me more HP??

Are you saying you have 7 hp less BECAUSE of the snorkel? I've never heard of that before.

That snorkel isn't going to rob any hp from you. A larger, better flowing exaust will give you a "minor" increase in hp, usually around 1-5 but almost never as much as 10. What a better flowing exaust does do is let you get all the hp you can have from a factory spec engine and if you disconnect the battery after installing, the computer will relearn the new parameters of your engine setup and you will feel that.

The only chip I ever tried was for a VW Fox rally car I owned. It didn't make as much difference as the maker claimed it would. That could have been because the engine was already in high tune from the VW Special Projects folks.

If your snorkel has the same cross sectional area as a three inch exhaust tube, then the snorkel is not cutting your horsepower. You might try another route. HO heads with a 99/00 intake and bored throttle body will give you some very noticeable horsepower. What I have heard about chips is not encouraging. Basically what they do is lower the throttle position for advance timing and rich fuel mixture, which would generally hurt your milage.
