I've been looking around for ideas since I am waiting for my Crawler King and Cherokee body to arrive and stumbled upon this interesting R/C build.

Nice!

I recently looked into getting back into R/C's and could NOT believe the prices they're getting on ebay for older kits......almost crazy.

Yeah pricing for kits these day.. even the old school ones are crazy.. that is why I am glad I got mine for a good deal before I left Ramstein.. now I just need to pick up the XJ body, and the electronics.. and I'll be set

Once again.......live & learn.......I had 7 Tamiya's and 2 boats years ago.....
These things hold their value better than any toy I've seen.

I noticed that as well while I was looking for a kit to get for myself after I picked up a used rustler for a nephew. I went for a used one as I didn't want to pay double for a new one and still need to the batteries and chargers on top of that.

Yeah I hear that.. I ended up picking my crawler up with two bodies.. well one complete body, and once completely cut up body... and a motor that keeps burning up ESC's.. so pretty much going to pick up all new electronics, after I sell of my other RC cars.. as I have never been a huge one for on road R/C's...

Yeah now I'm stuck looking at that body for my crawler... I know I don't need it.. but i really want it.. so I can build me a nice looking crawler.. I just wish they had one with the newer front end.. oh well.. it is still an XJ, so that alone will make it bad ass.. just wish I could build mine to be nearly as nice as the one that the Axial folks built!!

I've seen some very detailed crawlers in my searches, I'm talking down to ice and coke cans in a cooler in the back of the XJ. I don't think I will ever get mine that nice, but maybe after a few years and a lot of practice.

Yeah I mainly just want to complete my crawler.. maybe once it is completed, I'll start working towards the scale side of things.. maybe.. I'm not really a show and tell person, nor do I do the competition runs like most of those guys do.. but might do it just for myself and the fun of doing it...
