Uh oh!!! DOG PICS!!! You created a monster, 'cause we're big on our dogs!

We have four dogs and one foster dog that we're fostering for our local shelter.

Scout, the Jack Russell Terrorist, and my kayak fishing buddy.

Our husky, Nanook, who cam from an abusive home. He's a great dog with a sad story.

Let's see, then there's Piper, our pit bull. She's the most well behaved and smartest dog we've ever had. The mean pit bull stereotype is absolutely WRONG. This poor dog cam from a horrible situation, was almost starved to death, and not given a chance by anyone. We got her from the shelter, though, and she's doing great. My wife's even using her to compete in dog agility now. She's an awesome dog.

Then there's Lily, our current foster dog we're fostering for our local shelter. She's currently undergoing treatment for heart worms. She's a nice young dog who loves attention, and she'll be all cured from her heart worms after another 60 days.

MOre dog pics.

A couple of puppies that were tossed out of a car going about 50 down the highway in front of my wife. It was 112 degrees outside. They'd have died for sure. My wife got on the phone and had them both in homes within 24 hours. One is currently being the best friend of a U.S. Marshall, and the other is being hopelessly spoiled every day by a lady who my wife rides horses with.

Currently have two pound puppies, well they are now 2.5 years old a brother and sister, Buster and Angel. Reggie, my python currently resides at a biker brother's house since the RV doesn't have room for her cage. Reggie is right at 6' long she is 10 years old. I'll have to get some pics to show the kids to y'all. Pitt bull terriers are victims of bad publicity from the dog fighters. I've met meaner rotties than any pitt terrier. Come to think of it, Buster the Boxer/terrier/lab mix is way meaner than any pitt terrier I've ever met.

My hat's off to you Lizardrunner for saving mis treated dogs. The two big dogs I have were rescued from the streets about to starve to death. Both of those breeds get a bad rap. They have turned out to be very loving dogs

Never was much of a cat person growing up but my wife was so of course if I was ever going to have a dog she was going to have a cat. The damn thing has turned out to be pretty awesome though.
Ezra has the greatest personality of any dog I've owned. Love her like there is no tomorrow.
Hell she drives the Jeep, how can I not love her.

Also had an 8' Anaconda there that was very cool. Anna had never had contact with other snakes so she did not know how to behave like one. Just another person. She didn't even know how to eat. Had to be force fed. Very friendly and would not squeeze even if you wrapped her around your neck

Here are my dogs. The Basset Hound is Ellie. We raised her from a puppy and she is one of the friendliest dogs I've ever met. The brown pit bull type dog is Canada. She lived in a shelter in St. Louis for 1.5 years before we were able to take her on as a foster. She's super smart but she lived a hard life before coming to the shelter so she doesn't trust strangers until they throw a few tennis balls for her. Fetch is her favorite and gets her to trust new people. We tried adopting her out but the whole fearful of strangers thing put any adopters off so she's ours now. The blue/gray pit bull mix is Sweden. She came from animal control where some a**hole had dumped her and her 4 puppies. The pups all got adopted but she was going to be euthanized so we picked her up as our newest foster. She's a great dog but has issues with bicycles that we're trying to work on.

I have two dogs, and three gold fish. Our first dog Izzie is a Beagle, Black Lab, Pitbull mix. Our second dog Penny is a Rottweiler, and German Shepard mix. Both our dogs are rescues. I will post pictures later. I have never understood the whole Pitbulls are mean thing. I mean I have never owned a full blooded Pitbull before, but neither have been aggressive at all. Plus I have had friends in the past who have had full blooded Pitbulls, and they are very protective but never aggressive. My first mixed Pitbull was a Blue Healer Pitbull mix.

Ha, that reminds me. There is a local cat rescue that specializes in large cats. There is a 400# white tiger there that lost his house privileges because he kept insisting on getting in the shower with the owner. And just how do you push a 400# tiger out of the shower anyway?

abebehrmann

Haha, we fostered a 70lb pit bull named Tank for 6months who did something very similar. He liked to try to balance on the side of the tub while you took a shower. Every single time he fell right in. I'll try and dig up a pic of him, he was a funny dog.

I love dogs, always have. If I come to your house and meet you for the first time and you have dogs, well I'm extremely rude because the dog(s) get all the attention.

With that said I think the deal with pit bulls is what they are capable of doing. Defending their territory and the rest of the pack. In other words someone's home and family. Also I would look at them as a personal liability.

I think any dog breed can be a great pet but honestly I wouldn't want a breed that MAY just MAY be a danger to my toddler, or non-adult child. Things can happen too fast.
