well i got an email about not posting yet so i figured id make some time to say Hi.

ive had my 95 XJ for alittle over a year now. id been looking for a jeep for awhile and had set out to by a wrangler when i found the XJ sitting alone on the car lot and figured why not a test drive. i actually like it better then the wranglers i had been driving so tossed the cash down and drove off.

heres a couple pics of it how it was

i didnt get many pics of it then lol

about 6 months after buying and getting settled into my new house ( first time owner) the addiction set in

first thing i did was check which axle set and TC i had and knew right off the D30 and C8.25 was on its way out

after some time on another forum i found a XJ D44 for 200 bucks which was perfect as i wasnt looking to go full width
after a bit more time i found a waggy D44 front for 100 bucks in AZ which was also perfect so i paid the 200 shipping and had my axle set for 500 bucks which wasnt to bad

i order up some builders parts for a front and rear tube bumper and tube doors next

being a fabricator it wasnt hard slapping them together and adding my own twist to them to give me a one off bumper set

then i started to gut the poor old girl and what seemed like solid floors from under the rig turned out to be totally rotted.

so at the current moment im sitting with no front axle as i sold the D30 and no floors or interior what so ever

i bought some 18 gauge sheet metal and im making my own floor panels and a custom dash in under way

here well break for some pics

http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l601/EKing81/rear%20bumper%20and%20interior%20removed/HPIM0425.jpg

as you can see the floors are pretty bad i lost some of the pics its even worse then those show
you can also see my doors are off ive done the removeable door mod
and the rockers have been cut out and will be getting boatsided with 2x6x3/16 tube

now that i have got this far and put some extensive work into this project i think ill end up selling my D44's and going full width with a 9" rear and a D44 front
4 linked front and rear with 4 wheel disk and a dual e brake set up

now a quick peek at the bumpers

the front isnt finished yet but will be a winch bumper when done

and the rear tube bumper with tire carrier
YES I SAID REAR TUBE BUMPER WITH CARRIER just for those who think its impossible...... itll bend.....

these bumpers went from buy a kit (with custom bends for the wrap around) to building a air over hydraulic bender using prints from GotTrikes so everything can be done in house and shipping them all over

well thats my hello hope you all enjoy youll have to wait till i get time for a fab thread to get more lol

I like the bumper even though I usually don't like tube bumpers.
I may have missed where the swing out locking handle came from but it seems to be right at home on that bumper.

the latch is just a knu-vice model 2001 2000# clamp that i cut the mounting tabs off of and welded to the tube
the tab the linch pin goes through i added as a safety

Rear bar & wheel mount looks weighty ??

Good job tho ..

Liking the two piece mounting so that the "chassis" rail mounts stay in place.

Took a while for the brain to kick in - and realise that the wart, growing on the passenger side, top corner tube .....

Was the swingaway stopper ... :D

lol yeah id hate to see the tire take out the side of your rig lol i had to add a stop

the "wart" is actually a weld on pipe cap
