Hey everyone!

My name is Cory. I'm a GM Technician by day and a DSM/Mitsubishi guru that's always had a soft spot for XJ's by night. I moved from Rochester New York down to Bradenton Florida last year. Flat lands with no hills and straight roads are kinda boring.

Here is, Well what was my Galant VR4 that I sold 3 months ago. It was a very needy vehicle and I don't have the space to work on it down here in the condo complex. It had a lot of bolt on's and moved out of its way.

My girl has always had a Red Cherokee and has always been one hell of a reliable vehicle. Being with her going on 4 years now they grew on me. This was her first Cherokee, A 1999 Cherokee Sport 4 Wheel Auto.

It made many trips up and down the east coast, It even rescued her brothers 1991 Eagle Talon Auto NT after the end clutches went out on a drive to Syracuse NY from Rochester NY. (yes the rear leafs were sagging due to the age)

Sadly, After being cut off in Florida traffic on her way home from class one night. She avoided hitting any other cars (6 lane highway) spun out and hit a fence pole. She was safe, But due to the rot and rust from salty New York the body shop at work wasn't able to repair it for less then what it was worth. I tried my best to have it not totaled out, Considering less then 4 months before this I had the dash out doing an evaporator core for the AC.

With the money from the 99 XJ, The search was on for its replacement. It HAD to bed a 4 door, Auto with 4WD. The search landed us in Orlando. (you would not believe how hard it is to find a 4WD XJ in FL) We picked up this 95 country with 85k on it. It was funny, It was a New York titled vehicle but it wasn't rotted or rusted. Has its flaws but the price was right

This is the only pictures I have of it for some reason.

This brings me up to the present day. After I sold the Galant, I told myself I was taking a break from the DSM/4G63T platform for a few months. Looking for a reliable tow vehicle was in order. Ive always wanted to find a project car, So a DD/Tow vehicle was in order. After searching weeks on end, I found this 97 XJ Sport 4WD 5 speed with a lift on it.

After a few phone calls, I was able to meet up with the seller. Was her sons car, He owed her money and she wanted it gone. Having cash in hand I knew I was driving it home for a deal. It has 161k on the clock, But these are like Honda's. Keep them maintained and they keep on going.

Here are the only pictures I have currently.

Twins?!

So that's a little bit about myself, I hope to learn a bit from some of you and in return help out where I can. I'm a pretty big forum person so I'm always in and out.

Thanks for reading
Cory

I had the GVR4 for almost 5 years. I was just getting bored with it and really want a project DSM (1GA). So the XJ was a no brainer for a DD and a tow vehicle.

Nice jeeps. You seem to have a thing for red... It's funny, This is my first non white vehicle. Even parts cars I have had in the past were white.

Nice Jeep. Looks like you already have a two or three inch lift on it and the grill guard. You already have some mods on it. Thanks for sharing.

Nice Jeep. Looks like you already have a two or three inch lift on it and the grill guard. You already have some mods on it. Thanks for sharing. From what I know, Its a rough country 3inch lift. I was looking for a mostly stock auto 97+ since we missed the 99 so much. I ended up finding this one on Craigslist a few days before I sold the Galant. Even though it was a Standard we went to see it. (I haven't owned a auto in my life, so I wanted one for a DD) Needless to say cash talks and I came home with it for very little money.

She is a great driver, The accident could have been much worse. I was fighting with All State for 3 weeks not to have the 99 totaled since I just put a evap core in it and a few other things. But once the body shop dug into it, It was to far rotted in the rear for them to section a 1/4 panel into it. The 95 she has now is great, I just need to get some motivation to do some small things to it that it needs.
