View Full Version : MP3 transmitter - what would you recommend?
Hi,
I'm still using the original radio-tape in my xj.
Till few months ago I used a simple mp3 transmitter that I got from deal extreme.
but now it stopped working. Is there any recommended one those days?
Thanks,
Saar

It's not a direct answer to your question, but I wouldn't recommend a FM transmitter, I would get a cassette tape adapter. The are about $10 and this way it's on a wire. BlueTooth would probably do as well as the analog wire, but like you said you have the original radio (like me!).

I use an FM modulator in my big truck to sinc my iPhone to my radio so that I can listen to all my political crap I'm addicted to.
I FREAKING HATE IT!!! GO with the cassette tape adapter! If my radio had that, I'd so it in a heart beat.
I've got a radio for my Jeep I need to install that has a USB port. It'll charge my iPhone or MP3 player AND not get all the crazy interference.

I had one that you hook up behind the stereo on the antenna and had some RCA wires sticking out but it didn't sound good and itmessed up the radio stations. I also had the cassette adapter which worked better and that's the one I would recommend.
Thank you, I guess I should mention that the tape isn't working (for years...)
so the tape adapter (which I used till the tape stopped working) is not an option...
Maybe there will be no change but to replace the original radio...
Thanks,
Saar.

I found this at Wally world yesterday, it was only 25 bucks. Plugs into the ciggarette lighter and has an FM transmitter. Also comes with a cord to plug into the headfone jack. It does a good job and the sound quality is fine. The only thing I don't like about it is that I have a credit card holder case for the phone and I have to take it off to plug it in. I didn't think about that when I picked it up but the dremel can cure that problem.
