Who has a Chilton laying around that can give me the plasti-gauge specs for a 4.0?

I need the Rod & Crank info

Conecting rod

Desired 0.0015 to 0.002

Allowable 0.001 to 0.003

Rod side clearance0.010 to 0.019

Crankshaft

Desired 0.002

Allowable 0.001 to 0.0025

Thrust end play 0.0015 to 0.0065

This info is from my Haynes manual

What do you do if it is larger? Start over? Thicker bearing? Shims? :crazy:

have the crank turned :( I just want to verify the machine work and bearings

More than likely you will find it smaller not bigger
