I was not sure where these would go and since I had a few of them I didn't see the need for multiple posts.

1. Beadlocks, I know they are not DOT approved. Anyone run them on the street? Pros/Cons?

2. How can I measure how much lift I have? I installed a set of used leafs I got from a local shop. They have an add-a-leaf in them which lifted the monster a little. Now I just need to know how much.

3. I am going to rattle can the Monster sometime soon. I have self etching primer, but what grit sand paper should I use to get through the clearcoat?

Do you still have factory flares?

Nope, flares went away months ago. I have cut the front fenders and am going to try and cut the rears this weekend.

I will get measurements to the crease above the flare tomorrow.

On a trip over to 4wheelparts here in Houston ever 4wd had beadlocks. I've wanted some since then. That's Texas though, we have trucks lifted well above the head light limit of 54 inches as well.

I wonder if Chrysler has any measurements for your specific Jeep year. Having that first measurement would let you know how much over stock you are. Of course it may be higher since stock coils and leaves sag over time.

Hmmm I'll leave that one up to someone that has a clue...

I believe depending on the model and the year there were a few different suspension heights

Really? Interesting. I believe my UpCountry package meant it was 1" higher but I didn't know there was more than just that, but I'm a newb!

Yes there were. I think it was called up country IIRC. They were 1" taller. But everybody uses the lower height for measurements.

Switch, the measurements to the seam is 22 1/2 front and 25 rear from the center of the hub.

Really? We were thinking about moving to a different model. You know the one where people ask questions and 3 people reply with "Did you search?!?!?!" or reply "That question has been asked SOOOOO many times before!" The one I like best is "Wow this is an old thread!"

We're only considering the change because those other Cherokee sites have sooo many more members, I mean that must be more enjoyable. :shocker: :bang:

Yeah Yeah I know I'm ranting again... :smiley-scared002:

"Yeah Yeah I know I'm ranting again..."

Sometimes it is good to go on a rant. It helps relieve stress. At least that is what my therapist told me.

I killed my therapist. He never saw it coming. I knew he wasn't any good! :rolleye0012:
