Highest Mileage XJ

Ok from the "Your Jeep at work" I thought about a highest mileage thread,.... So can anyOne beat 551,850Kms or 342,903 Miles? That mileage is on the factory engine and transmission,... The body was shot when I first got it and I swapped in some auto diffs for the 3:55 gear ratio for the 31's


But on that note can anyone beat that? Post up mileage and specifics!

dont speak too soon and jinx yourself... at the shop today I pulled a 4.0 out of an 87 YJ that only had 150k... once I tore into it and got the head off I
had to ask the boss WHY I was taring into cause I SAW nothing wrong with it
however he told me that two of the cylinders had very low compression

I am in the middle of doing a major tune up on it right now. This Jeep runs good the only problem it had when I bought it was overheating.

The new hi flow coolant system I got for it will do the trick.

I recently test drove a 1992 xj with 386472 miles. It was the 4.0 5 speed. I almost bought it cause it was only $385 but the floor was way too rusty for me. The previous owner had been patching the rust and it was ready to fall apart. Motor ran strong and it shifted like a dream though, if you could get past the clunking of the broken leaf springs. My xj is a baby at only 212718. My dads has 234562.

I've got 322,XXX on my 99' XJ. All OEM motor/tranny.

my friend's dad Cherokee has over 450,000. and has as good as compression as mine that only has 92,000. and it runs smoother mine is a 2000 and hes is a 99.just how you treat it and use good parts.

262,000 miles young and that's on the original motor, body, and tranny. I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 6 cylinder. Nothing mechanically wrong save for a few leaks :)
