I blew my doors off... Erm I want to

Has anyone gone doorless with their XJ? Mine has power widows locks blah blah blah and while that's all fine and dandy, it makes it a pain to go doorless when the mood hits ya. My old landcurisers and 4 runner was simple... Unbolt them. But the spaghetti bowl of wires in there kinda intimidate me.
Any hits, tips or tricks... Or the obvious answer of " don't take the doors off"

Mine has the doorless mod. If you take out the kick panels on both sides you can unplug the wire harness for each door. Kind of a pain to get the plug through the hole in the body though.

Awesome. I have not looked yet and so I didn't know of there was a convenient plug to just dissconect or not. I had a Tacoma at one point and I had to make my own disconnect for the harness... Not fun!!!

Yeah, it all just unplugs. You should with a little finesse after you do it once and get it freed up be able to unplug it without removing the kick panel.

I did it.

And up here in Canada, honestly, has to be the mod that gets THE MOST looks. you see ppl craning their neck, double taking, smiling and staring... Love it! pretty bad at highway speeds tho. I left my liftgate on, and it causes alot of buffeting in the cabbin. Also pics up every loose piece of dirt and deposits it right behind ur sunglasses lol

Im doorless all the way... for the rear doors you gotta cut the wires and make a plug for them which is VERY easy and I did mine for under 15 bucks.
as for the fronts as jim stated there is a plug in each of the kick panels about an inch thick and two inches wide and on the drvers side you also have one extra red plug... and to kill the lights each door there is a plug with a black wire and yellow wire just unplug each of those and your dome light will stay off!
