No, just the floorboard sandwiched with 1" x 4" 1/4" steel. Pretty much like this - http://www.bestop.com/images/installation_guides/39441.pdf. Except for in an XJ instead of a Cj7. There was really only one spot where I could put the seat and have mounting points that were accessible underneath the jeep.
