I was having a conversation in chatbox this morning with OrangeXJ. He was asking how I polish my alloy wheels. I told him I've only done it once and that was due to some over spray of tire bleach I was using. It caused spots on the surface of my wheels.

Now I know many of you "hard core" wheelers don't use alloy wheels, but for those of you that do have them this might be handy, or you might have a few suggestions on what you've done.

Now I remember using a spray that cleaned the surface of the aluminum wheel almost by itself. It had a chemical smell and you could actually see smoke coming off the surface of the metal!

You might want to try this on a small surface of your alloy wheel, back side, and confirm that you will get the results you are looking for.

I mean if you have alloy wheels there's no sin in having them look nice!

When I get my new wheels, they will be polished. No reason we can't have a little class too.:sign0181:

Yeah its hard to beat good ol mothers mag polish and a big ol pile of cotten diapers if you use baby powder when removing the excess polish you will save buttload of diapers are it helps the polishing go faster due to little or no clean up from excessive wax everywhere.

What I ended up using was 3M super duty rubbing compound and a Mothers ball you stick in a drill. Wheels look like new only took 15 min per wheel.
