Thanks,I have a 2001 XJ used mostly for towing my bassboat.
All the upgrades are towing related and stuff like SS exhaust system.
Found the site through a web search" Jeep XJ fan clutch upgrade"
I'm probably older than most of you but still do all my own work on my vehicles.
Go bass fishing in most of my spare time.

You can use any site to host your pictures. We recommend photobucket, but that's only because we know it works. ;)

Welcome cyclone70, fellow basser here. would love to see what you've done to your rig for towing. I use da lizard for towing our bass rig and pulling the 7x14 enclosed bike trailer. great to have you on xjtalk

The biggest issue with the XJ is keeping the heat down towing in traffic on hot days.If the cooiling system held another 4 qts. it wouldn't be an issue.
Along with the fact that the EPA driving mileage makes the automakers lean out the engines so they just barely run at ridiculous temps for max. mileage.
220 F isn't helping the tranny any before the electric fan starts to kick in.Add
A/C on top of that and your rig is working to it's limits above 90 F.
I imagine the mud and rock crawler guys have the same issues I'm sure.
I'm hoping the feedback on the 3 row Champion Aluminum radiators is favorable as that will be the next upgrade.
