Two great white sharks swimming in the ocean spied survivors of a sunken ship. "Follow me son" the father shark said to the son shark and they swam to the mass of people. "First we swim around them a few times with just the tip of our fins showing." And they did. "Well done, son! Now we swim around them a few times with all of our fins showing." And they did. "Now we eat everybody." And they did.

When they were both gorged, the son asked,"Dad, why didn't we just eat them all at first? Why did we swim around and around them?"

His wise father replied, "Because they taste better without the crap inside!"

Now you know why sharks circle you before attacking.

Sharks also rub up against their prey before eating. Is that so they can feel warm and friendly about it?

Sad, but true. Sharks have mot of their sensory function on a thing called the Midline down each side. They rub up against the prey to make sure it something they want to eat. That is after they scare the crap out of the victim. :D

yep lateral line and nose are the sensory perception areas of a shark. bop em on the nose hard and they will run away. The scaring the crap out of the victim just comes natural :rolleye0012:

course I'm so intelligent I used to dive with them and take notes for a biology course. but I did have an item called a shark dart with me. umm think I should have carried more than one?

sharks are interesting predators equipped with some very sophisticated system of detection touch, smell, electricity, vision...

So in the end they are the perfect hunting machine.... and I second Jame's statement, I don;t want to know what is the best way to overcome a shark attack ;)

Well the way I see it. The reason they circle is sizin the meal up. I mean would you go at a 3lb steak with a plastic spork?

Sure you do Steph, he answer is to swim with dolphins. They kill sharks and they put lots of distance between them and dolphins if they show up
