Thanks for adding me to this Great forum! I have just recently got my first XJ. It's a stock 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited. It has lots on miles, but well taking care of. Loaded with power everything and Leather. Of course it the the 4.0 Engine, with 174,000 miles... Seems to run ok for that many miles, but I think it needs a tuneup. I want to lift this Jeep about 3 in. This will be my first lift so I thought I should join so I can talk to all the experienced XJ owners... Thanks again.
I will take some pics of her soon.

:welcome: to xjtalk from Delaware/Maryland!! That actually isn't too bad on the mileage... but I probably would recommend doing a tune up and check all your fluids to make sure the PO actually changed them out...

Welcome Jdub

Leather seats, I like it. I have a set to put in my Laredo. Three inch lifts are not expensive and work well. I ran one for years without issues

I feel very welcomed here in the Forum! Thank You!!! So how do I go about finding the Front & Rear Gear Ratio on my Stock XJ? My Jeep didnt come with Factory Tow Hooks, So i picked some up from at Summit Racing , But I was wondering if a Hitch would be enough to use as a Tow hook point for the Rear of the Jeep? Because I also will be installing a Hitch. Should I Weld up some "D Rings" to the frame or bottom of my new hitch? Any Thoughts?

Well if your gears are stock it will be 3.55 for a auto or 3.07 for a manual. I use my rear hitch as a recovery point all the time, holds up well so far

Welcome to xjtalk from Va. If yer wantin to geta recovery point with yer rear hitch you can get a tow hook or D-Ring receiver that will go into it. Check out the OEM/Factory section and look for the Stock Jeep Specs sticky that will give ya some helpful stock info.

I was going to say I have a D-ring to slip into the hitch and it has worked out fine for a rear recovery point. I have pulled plenty of folks out of ditches, mud and snow with it over the last two years..

Here is my receiver Made for a Clevis along with my other gear. Works well. The only problem I have had with it was I vibrated the the clevis off on a 105 mi off road trip. So now I keep it in the recovery bag
