Ok yall I know there is goin to be some Nay Sayers to this but still want yalls ideas. I was wonderin if you had side steps and welded a plate from bottom of it to the frame where it bolts to would that be ok for sliders?

Nerf bars actually connect to spring mount in the rear and ctl arm mount in the front if I remember correctly. I welded mine in and still run them , get bagged on a bit for being old school but before sliders were around its all we had so in my opinion they cool just weld em on. For the record I can stand on mine an they hold fine lol lol

The best part is there cheap $200.00 you could also look at the trail gear sliders they will work but you have to build the bar to the sub frame

Isn't the metal really thin and dents easily though?

As long as they are made of fairly substatial metal (not really thin stuff) I don't know why they wouldn't work if you weld em in like Mark says.
