Shock extenders

I just wanted to ear everybody's opinion and advice on shock extenders.

The idea is if I wanted to increase my lift a bit (like a couple more inches at the most from 3") could I use something like that to be able to keep my new shocks and save a bit of $$ ?

I think Andy makes some, and that means they'd be super,HD ones. I've seen one jeep here in Arkansas with shock extenders on all four. looks to me like they would work.
