Anyone know if they will work on an XJ? They are for a 4" Wrangler lift. I'm at 3" now, wanting to go 4.5"-6" on my XJ eventually. Just wondering if I'd be a dumba$$ to pass these up.

I'm not sure, but I think they interchange. Measure the length of yours and have him measure the lengths of his. His should be slightly longer. The axle ends are the same for the front

100'% yes... I ran TJ ones for a few years prior to swapping to long arms, Not MSMoorenburg has em on HIS XJ ... I think ANYTHING tj will interchange with XJ when it come to front axle... except the high pinion and low pinion ring and pinion gears... and a long arm setup

and I THINK the front driveshafts are interchangeable as well

Can we confirm this? I run front shafts front and rear. Some of the wreckers are on to us and have jacked up the price for xj front shafts

Keep in mind TJ arms are 1/4" shorter than XJ arms from the get go.
Stock TJ= 15.75
stock xj= 16.00

Most lift kits for tjs with 4" lift come with 16" control arms. Same as stock XJ.

im pretty sure this is not true.

i was looking for a front shaft for a long time and ive heard multiple well informed people tell me no

however there are length differences in TJ driveshafts from the 4 banger 5 speed to the 6 banger 5 speed, i had to get the 6 driveshaft shortened by about 3/4 of an inch.

4 automatic and 6 standard are the same length...

The drives shafts are all over the place between the TJs over the years. Some have U joints, some have Repezza, The lengths vary based on engine trans and year model.

93-98 Grand Cherokees are the best donors for drive shafts for the front and SYE rear. They came in so many lengths you can just hop on eBAy and choose the length you need. They are normally around 20-40.00

Control arms are tricky because they need to be right.
93-98 rear lowers are good for taller lifts if you have adjustable uppers to make it match as they are 17" center to center.

Alot of guys are starting to get JK (07-current) wrangler lowers and modding them into Xjs as well. They have the same bushing dimensions but essentially can make an awesome mid arm setup on a cherokee.

I don't think the front or rear shafts interchange. The front axle sits more forward relative to the engine in a TJ than on an XJ. making them longer

I Have done it several times for SYE's The V8 Zj shafts are a little stouter and actually appear the same as the older tom woods shafts before they started having their own forgings made.

My last 2 door XJ ran ZJ shafts front and rear with an AA SYE and no modification. They both came from pull a part in Charlotte and cost $26.00 combined. I did have the front axle about 2" more forward than stock but ZJ shafts vary in length so much there is a lot of lengths to choose from. I actually removed the tom woods shafts and replaced them with ZJ shafts. I was able to sell them for 600.00 and buy a new set of 36" TSls for the jeep.

Most of the 93 and 94 ZJ shafts were no good but the later ones were awesome.

I presently run one on my current 2 door with 7" of lift.
The splines sit at perfect engagement. The ZJ shafts also have a nice boot to keep things clean.
