Hope this isnt a repost. Im not real familiar with all the new Headlights. Zenon & hi power & etc etc .....Im Old school. Factory headlights is all I know about. My question is......I think id like a little bit better headlights than what came on the 88s originally ......But I have no idea what to look for as far as brand, wattage, etc ...I dont even know of there Is any lights that are Just above what came stock in 88 . I was wondering can anyone throw me a few names or part numbers or whatever for some "slightly better than stock" headlights?

wow, I figured 89 bucks would buy the best headlights you could get. wow may not be able to afford upgrading right now then.

Just a quick mention here , be sure to read all the instructions before you buy ,some of those kits require a upgraded harness (old stuff wont handle it) that is sold seperately.

I got autopals on ebay euro lens and 100-55 watt h4's for about 30 shipped. I had ipfs on my last xj and these are every bit as good. In fact he has dot euro and hid lens all for the price of wagner sealed beams.

I run Silverstars,..

I quit running them. They just didn't last more than about three months. After warranting them twice, I noticed they quit making them in H5s for my Outback.

I have heard an upgraded harness alone can make a difference with stock headlights.. seems like a pretty easy DIY project too.

Bulbs won't last long if you touch them with your bare fingers. I always wipe the bulbs with alcohol before installing them. My autopal h4 are a year old now besides I had 75 dollar ipfs that went out in 6 months.

Not to go OFF topic........but I Just got my new taillights yesterday, only to find out They dont fit. Theyre not even close. - Thats what I get for ordering new 88 cherokee taillights :p reason i did that,is because everything i try to buy for a Comanche is usually more expensive, usually. So Thinking cherokee taillights would be the same I bought them. Thyre not even Close! oh the heartbreak ~ anybody know where I can get some good new or used Comanche taillights?

I have seen a few Commanches at the local u-pull-it yard. You can try a junk yard search, something like www.junkyarddog.com

As far as headlights...Changing bulbs is fine. But for maximum effect, first do the harness upgrage. Then go from there...my opinion.
