Thanks for the Intro! Actually I saw someones link to this forum from cherokeeforum.com so I figured I'd sign up. But I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic, got a 4 inch lift on it, cut fenders, 33" goodyear wranger duratrac tires and I bed lined the outside. Sadly though, two weekends ago I was on the freeway and the tie-rod or something broke while I was driving..luckily I was in the HOV lane so when my wheels went left and my steering wheel went right I didnt hit anyone, only hit the median. :boohoo: Almost no body damage as my XJ is sitting hire than the median but the drop pitman arm etc. got destroyed. So Im going to buy a over the knuckle steering conversion and the Rock ram steering Box... and do an axle swap while its outta commision! :D
After the wreck :(

Wow, very lucky. It looks like the Tie Rod End broke. But I'm surprised you didn't still have steering on the passenger side tire.

Maybe I need to look at it closer.

I'll try and get some more pictures of the front end by the weekend if you'd like to see the damage haha! I mean its not all that bad since I was going to replace all of it anyways, just sucks I can't drive it right now...but on a positive note...the barrier didnt have :sign0055: on my jeep. it still starts up and everything

Thanks! and right on, what axles are you looking to do?
My buddy has a Dana 44 for the front and a Ford 9" for the back hes giving to me for like 150$ for both. Pretty excited for that and then hopefully if money allows I can also get a 6-8" long arm lift and put some 35s on it.
