I know of several people who have the Warn kit on their TJ's and XJ's. Everyone of them likes the kit and has not had a problem with it.

A couple of points:
The kit will increase the track width. No big deal, spacers on the rear equal out the widening.

This is an excellent time to change the bolt pattern on your wheels to 5 x 5.5, the benefit will be in the locking hub selection. 5 x 4.5 (the stock size) kits use the Ford style hub (like what was found on the Rangers).

Your going to have to machine the ID of the rotor on all subsequent rotors you buy. The hole in the center needs to be opened up slightly to fit.

The main disadvantage is the initial buy in. But it will eliminate having to buy the non-serviceable hubs.

Considering the type of wheeling you do, this is probably a good direction for you to go. Having a manual hub is not all that big of a deal, but having a real spindle and dual tapered bearings is. The trick we used to do when I lived in Oregon, the land of the temperate rain forest, is to pack all the air space completely full of grease. That way when you hit the water and the metal cools, it doesn't suck in any water. We never went swimming the way you do, but we did a lot of wheeling through water and mud. I never lost a bearing on my CJ. And I can tell you I wheeled it much harder than I am willing to wheel an XJ

It would be a great mod for you, like Steve said, cause of all the water. But it is a very expensive mod. So to make it worth it you are gonna have to wheel the shit out of it. Are you ready to commit to that???? Oh and that doesn't count the Mall parking lots......unless they are flooded.

I've been thinking about doing that mod to mine. I like the idea of serviceabilty.

I think it is a little expensive, do hubs on your XJ hold for 10K km???
I still have the original ones (100K km), why do you think those will last more than the regular ones?

If Wayne would learn to go swimming WITHOUT the Jeep I think they would last a lot longer. ;o)

I don't know about the International side of Warn but that kit is no longer made here in the states and replacement parts are very hard to find for it> I have heard that another company has bought the rites and are again manuf. them. As for quality ... I have no clue. I do know on NAXJA they have a write up on how to do it with junk yard parts. You should research that first. Lastly , I dont know the exchange rate but have you checked into buying them here and haveing them shipped over? I'd be happy to help as I'm sure alot of others on here would be!!!

What you need is the CJ5&7 D30 parts from the knuckle outward, including the stub shaft from the 70s and 80s
