S10 shackles

Hey yall. Was wonderin something.I bought a set of S10 leafs for my 4.5 lift and they came with the shackles still on them. I am wondering can you use the shackles as part of lift on a XJ or not. May be a helpful lil bit of info for some who are doing low budget lifts if they can.:thumbsup:

From what I have read, they MAY fit, but if they do, they offer no lift.

I don't see any advantage to using them. You can't use the S10 main without cutting the eyes off anyway.
