ok so i wanted to do this for about 2 years so i did it today

1st off use these

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16103345.jpg

1. i took the doors off by taking all the bolts out of the doors they are a 40 torx on a 95 xj
2. then you cut the bottom of the hinge off

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16103236.jpg

then drive the hinge off using waynes best tool the BFH
the drivers side the hinge pins come from the top and on the pass side the pins come from the bottom

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16103354.jpg
3.then drive the pass side pins in from the top

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16105748.jpg

4. install the modified hinges back on the doors

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16113616.jpg

mine had a shim behind all 4 hinges i just lined everything back up using the clean spots as a guide :smiley-laughing021:
5. drill out the hinge holes on the frame side

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16113608.jpg

if you look real close at the bottom left of the hinge you can see how i modified the hinge on the door by grinding the hinge so it cleared the frame part

http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv303/rguignard001/2011-03-16134017.jpg

that makes it easy to install the doors

6. install the doors back on and take them off again to enjoy the nice weather

all the wires i just unhooked from under the kick panels and i also undid the dome light plugs under the dash

I see mud in your future....

Now I have heard that the hinges are of different type... Pre-97 and 97+
Would your way of doing it work for both ?

Ive seen this done a couple times. Some people complain that its a pain to line up the pins when you re-install the doors. To fix that Ive seen em replace the pins, with bolts that are longer, and grind the tip of the bolt to help it go in easier.

In TX you are only required to have one rear view mirror. Whether it be on the door or windsheild.

for aligning the pins... just cut 1/4 inch off the bottom pins then when installing line the top pin and put it in THEN put the bottom pin in and let it slide down....
I have had mine doorless for a few years and the guy who showed me told me to have a set of 1/4 hitch pins on hand cause the OE pins will eventually break... mine never have but still I keep em in my kit!
Hey rene let me know if you want a pair of these
