Sounds like you are getting water up in the engine compartment. A factory front skid will eliminate some if not all of that. Distributor getting wet maybe? It is a very common thing to get some condensation inside the cap and have the spark jumping all over inside.

I drive through many puddles here in Houston, Any timeit rains the streets flood and the puddles are deep and all over... I have the factory skid and have never had that problem... I only have this problem when i get it high water when off roading... By high water i mean up to the front blinkers. The fans throw water all over and that gets the dist cap wet and it'll run like crap for a while... sometimes days and will also trip my check engine light and say random misfire on all cylinders

skid plate would help,,ya can water proof dizzy, was going to do that after last drowning,,but other shit has got in the way
