Our thoughts are with Wayne and his family and off course his XJ.
Christchurche is shacking for a half a your now.

Every country has their own type of disasters.
Holland: Flooding

You have a good point there. Our own disaster in New Orleans was made much worse because it was in reclaimed land and under sea level. When the dykes were breached the sea water just poored in.

Hurricanes are the biggest natural disaster causing problem we have in our area. at least we know when it's coming for the most part. Here is some video from hurricane Ike taken at the lake where I live (this is not the ocean, just an inland lake.)

One of the things we dread is wild fires. Some of them can get really bad. We had one two years ago that burned for quite some time until the weather changed.
