We have these in our race car and I think they are pretty comfortable. Considering putting them in the xj. Anyone have these in their rig?

I have run that type of seats, but not in an XJ I had them set up where they leaned back a little. Much easier on the back since they have no suspension in them.

I've seen them in cherokees and wranglers...
I'd like to have them in my XJ but its not sumin you want for a daily driver and its made for racing or offroad...
I had them in my drag car back in the days but like I said its not comfy for daily driving..

http://www.apexperformance.net/CartGenie/image_options.asp?iid=528 these are what will be going into da lizard, much more comfy, fully adjustable, recline and flip forward, plus my simpson harnesses will fit perfectly.

I guess it depends on how you are built. Those seats would be very uncomfortable for me.

That is why I am askin, I have never sat in them for longer than 30 min tops. That is about as long as I have stayed in a tech line or the staging line. I usually dont drive for periods longer than that. But if I did i wonder if they would be that comfortable. Guess the only way to find out is to install one and see.

To me it seems like those seats would be hard on the back and a$$ offroad. If I was gonna go with something other than stock I would go with a offroad suspension seat like this: http://www.prpseats.com/Products/12-premier-high-back.aspx

I've used seats similar to the summit only once, it was in a baja buggy and they hurt my tail bone when I got it airborne. After five hours of running flat out on the desert in them I was very happy to get out. I've chosen the corbeau's for my XJ because you can order them to fit you, they have all the std. adjustments of a stock seat and they are comfy on the arse and back since you get a lumbar support. At my age (older than most dirt) I've begun to put comfort right up front and price at where ever it falls.

Those are pretty sweet Jim.

I have sat in these types of seats. They are not comfortable if you are broad across the upper back. I went to a place in Sacramento called Tognottis, a famous name in custom cars and sat in every type of seat they had. While these seats keep you stable laterally, I am just not comfortable in them because it forces my shoulders forward. I much prefer seats that wrap a little around the rib cage.
