1999 4.0 belt tensioner

Last week I changed my waterpump but ran into a problem. The belt tensioner is frozen in place. It only squeals when I use headlights or climate control. I have found if I let it heat up Im fine till I need to stop at a light. Also I took the bracket out and put it in a vice only to turn the head of the bolt rather than the whole thing.
How hard would it to be to switch to the 2000 version of the tensioner? Or is there another solution? I tried ebay and got one worse than I have.

I have the same issue......i just loosen the center bolt just enough where don't squeal......but I'm looking for something to replace it....I've seen in O'reilly auto store for $20....

just get a new one and put it on, they aren't expensive and cheep insurance you don't eat the belt. O'Reilly's, Advance Auto both have them at around 20 bucks.

I would only run it lose as a temp fix. Replace it. Simple and relatively cheap.

Yeah I called both stores and got nothing. So I called the dealership and they discontinued the long bolt but can order the part it goes into. Im off to the local pick a part to explore the 2000+ design and or find the part my 99 came with.
