Was wondering what everyone's thought was on the Firestone Destination AT? I am looking for new tires but not looking to spend a lot of money. I read a review that compared something like 20 tires and this one came in second. I think the review was based on road driving only though. Has anyone used them?

It really depends on the tire size you are looking to get. That being said the Destination is a very good tire, has very good road manners, although I have never had them offroad.

I have 33x12.5 on right now and really want to keep the same size. Most of my driving will be on the road with occasional off road.

They do well on the road, as long as your not in a lot of mud they should be very capable off road as well...

I have ran em before on another truck. They work great on road, but if you get in any mud, they will fill up quick and you ain't gonna go anywhere.

Can anyone recommend another tire around the same price (150ish on tirerack.com) that would do well both on and off road?

I just bought these like 2 weeks ago and love them!! Work great in the snow. And very quiet too.

I dont think they come in a 33x12.5. I really dont want to lose height and look of the 33's.

I like those.

I worked for Discount Tire Co. for almost ten years, and in that time I have seen alot of good looking product from Goodyear, unfortunately most of them never last nearly as long as expected and become very cupped if not rotated religiously. I myself am going with the Hankook Dynapro M/T RT03's. Great road manners and very good off road. Just my 2 cents

Riken's are a Michelin product... they are very good tires for the money but they do not make them in most high flotation sizes other than a 31x10.50-15

I've heard good things about the duratrac's as well. A friend has them, but in a size 31"

Another descent one is the General Grabber AT2, almost same style as the BFG All Terrain KO, but hell of a lot cheaper. I work at a tire garage in my town and everyone thats gotten these is real pleased with their road manners and offroad capabilities...

Thanks a bunch. After doing a lot of reading, I think these are the tires I am going with. Fit my budget the best, especially since I am needing to buy some parts to help correct this death wobble I have going on.

Well.. i put way too many road miles on my Jeep to consider going to something more aggresive like an MT. The Grabbers should do alright for occasional wheelin' (hopefully).

I personally would never buy anything that said Firestone on it, well maybe a wood fired pizza oven but that would be it. One bad experience, a life time of dislike.

I don't care for Firestone either. Burned me twice 20 years apart.

I like that tire a lot. Been thinking of getting some of those myself.

I like goodyear, bf goodrich, bridgestone, cooper (have these on da lizard currently), general tire, hoosier. these are the brands I've never had problems with both on the street and on the tracks/deserts. If you want strickly street sticky and you don't care about wear, hoosier are the bomb as are goodyear eagles. I had a lotus europa that I ran goodyear bluestreak racing tires on the street, two hundred miles to five hundred miles are all those will give you, but you will be on rails as much as your suspension will allow.
