Ok i have a 97 4.0 aw4 XJ, that is not behaving.

When i put the defrost on 1 it is fine but anything above that i can hear the door flap close and the air is diverted to the side vents, or someplace else. So on another website I found the "arm" that you have to put back in and then, it should work for a week or a year depending on use. That is if you dont use level 4 or maybe even 3.

So ice and the empeding storm is coming and guess who is trying to fix things they could have last weekend when the temps were in the high 60's :boohoo:

Now to the questions: is there a how to on how to take your dash apart to fix this problem permanantly and why am i only getting air on the driver's side defrost vent?

thanks!

a video of where the "arm" is, i know its dark, not mine,

it has a green dot on the "arm" that goes towards the center of the jeep, right. It is located on the bottom left of the camera view.
