View Full Version : 90 cherokee where does this wire go??

I went to pressure wash my engine off and it drove fine to oreilley but when i went to leave it wont shift out of first gear unless i do a little over 5k rpms. maybe i got water somewhere but this wire showed up and i've never seen it before, anyone know where it goes??

well that sucks trying to do a good thing comes out back fireing on u well i have a 90 cherokee to is it a two hole or three whole plug so i can go look at mine real quick

two hole plug. runs on the right passenger side, i can either go down to the bottom of the motor or up past the battery into the grill. but i cant find anything!

ok i found one if am not wrong that one goes to your light on the hood passenger side bottom of the light assembly :D

Then it was probably removed before you bought it, or that's not the original hood. I have one on mine and that is definitely the plug that goes to it. It's the same as mine, same plug and wire color even. If you had it, it would probably look something like the one on the left side of the hood of my old jeep :

yeah some one before u must have takin the light deal off but its the same color length and two hole plug just like toebees

yep under hood light... I have removed mine.... was not working

On the passengerside of the dash on the very bottom look for a red 10 AMP fuse that runs across the inside dash frame, pull the 10AMP fuse and manually shift the transmission to see if it shifts correctly manually. If it does, look at your TPS sensor and use some water remover on all electrical connections
