The nut the wrench is on. You can see there is NOOO room to move this. I have no idea how i can tighten this. Its leaking at the base of where this screws in.

help plz!

thanks

Admin: can you change in the title, tight to tighten? thanks

Get a 3/8" drive crows foot socket for tubing nuts the size you need. Should fix you up.

I agree with OrangeXJ. I would get a set of these, they sell em cheap at Harbor Freight.

Of course I have the tools for this, but the best way is to remove the pulley first. If it is leaking at the fitting at the base, there might be an O ring there that needs to be replaced. It is that way on my GM pump

DUHHHHHH lol I had to do mine... I just used the wrench like you have pictured but like 1/8 turn at a time... it sucked but SURE beats pulling and re installing the belt and pulley

I use a basin wrench (plumbing tool)

There is no way that the wrench i have in my hand would even tighten the nut, now i can get some meat on it to loosen it, but...

basin wrench...pics?

x2 if its leaking from the base of it chances are the o-ring/seal is shot, i dont think tightening it will help that much.

It's a really nice tool for plumbing for under stink but I found it good for areas where wrenches cant reach too... you can use it to loosen or tighten works both ways... doesnt cost much either maybe 10 to 20 bucks...
But I noticed you say the bottom nut? I dont have that on my steering its all one piece, I'll get ya a photo in a bit.

I used a flared wrench (crows foot) and a normal wrench before. To remove the pulley, you'll need to remove the fan and get a small pulley puller. I've never pulled one while on the rig, I honestly don't know if its possible due to space constraints.

Tighten this nut, will not work, before you loosen the top nut.
Tightening that nut will not stop the leaking.
90% the tubing is cracked (or already deformed from previous actions)under the nut.
best way to deal with leaking at that point, Remove the pump, remove the puly, remove both the nuts, check the tubing and if deformed or cracked replace. Remember, the nut is made from steel, the tube is mad from aluminium. set it just tight enough to press the tube, and lock the nut wit the top nut.
As it is that way on my pump in my (OEM) rig..
