Gotta haul my green xj about 170 miles pretty soon here. As some may have seen, the only glass is the windshield. I also live in Northern MN so we have snow, ice, sand, salt, blood you name it right now on the road. Anyone ever hauled something on an open trailer with a car cover?

Nice lookin rig, most tend to fly off, the heavier the better....cheap ones are'nt designed for that abuse.

I'd probably tarp it real tight myself.

Cooollll! I tell you what, I'll come up from Texas and haul it for you. Don't worry I won't need a destination address. I'll find it's new home!!!:D

Best bet is get yourself a poly tarp, not the light duty blue ones, but black or grey. Then beg or borrow straps and strap it down. Don't even think of duct tape. That will look all pretty and last about 1/4 mile or until you get above 35mph. Then it will start coming off. Been there done that. No matter how much you use it WILL come off.

Strap it down, both in the eyelets and a few straps, rope, whatever you have, over the top.

Inevitably, one corner of the tarp will come up, destroying the tarp. So do not plan on using it again.

Maybe open the doors, tuck the tarp in, and close the doors. Also strap the tarp down. You cannot throw too many tiedowns over the top.

I have used bungee cords on the eyelets and 3/8" cotton rope over the top. Got the rope and the tarp at Home Depot.

One suggestion to add there, fold all the loose spots over and duct tape them down so the canvas is completely tight and won't flap. It will still be that way when you get there.
